At Peterson, delivery of high-quality heating oil (and related services) is a core mission. We got our start in 1945 as a heating oil dealer, and we have grown steadily into one of the largest providers in Central Massachusetts.

One key to our success is reliability. We operate multiple bulk storage facilities, so we can maintain a plentiful supply even in challenging times. Heating oil customers deserve to have peace of mind about their fuel supply, and Peterson delivers that and more.


All heating oil is not the same. At Peterson, we treat our heating oil with a premium additive known as Avalux that improves the performance of your furnace and boiler. Heating oil can break down over time and form sludge that can shut down your system by plugging a filter or nozzle. Avalux stabilizes the oil so that it lasts longer and flows freely. It also dissolves sludge and protects your tank from harmful rust and corrosion.

We offer - and recommend - automatic delivery as the best way to guard against a fuel run-out. When you are an automatic delivery customer, we forecast your usage rate and adjust it based on local daily temperatures. It's a highly reliable way to schedule deliveries - so reliable that we offer a "No Run-Out Pledge." If you run out of fuel and your burner needs to be reprimed, we give you a free service plan for the next year.

Peterson will soon start selling Bioheat®, which is a new form of Oilheat that incorporates renewables such as soy oil. Bioheat is approved by ASTM for all Oilheat applications, so you can "go green" with this environmentally friendly fuel without any modifications to your boiler or furnace.
