Payment Plans

Peterson offers a range of plans to help you secure the fuel prices you want and pay for your fuel on a convenient, manageable schedule. The plans are described in greater detail in our Residential Customer Information Handbook.

• Prepayment Plan

No matter where prices go, you are protected. We guarantee that your price will not exceed a predetermined maximum rate and that your price will decrease if the market price of heating oil drops. You buy at least 80 percent of your oil in advance of the heating season and pay an upfront fee that covers the cost of the financial instruments that protect your price. You are eligible for renewal discounts.

• Prepayment Fixed Plan

You are protected against price increases because you buy 80% of your fuel in advance at a fixed price. You pay no fee for price protection, and your price does not decrease in the event that the market price drops during the season. You are eligible for a service plan and renewal discounts.

• Installment Plan

Your payments are spread over 10 months rather than billed upon each delivery. We calculate your anticipated annual usage based on previous usage and set your bill based on anticipated average price for the upcoming season. Upon enrollment, you decide whether to pay a fixed price or pay an upfront fee for "downside protection" that allows you to take advantage of any price decreases that may occur. You are eligible for a service plan renewal discounts.

• Market Price Plan

You pay the posted market price for each delivery, with payment due within 30 days of delivery. There is no price protection (and no advance fee.) You are eligible for renewal discounts.

• Market Price Budget Plan

You pay for your oil in 10 monthly payments, and your price is the market price at the time of each delivery. Your basic monthly bill is based on anticipated usage and anticipated average price, and we adjust it up or down over the course of the season based on your actual usage and the actual price at delivery time. You are eligible for a service plan and renewal discounts.

• Just Oil Plan

This is a great plan for tenants and others who are not responsible for maintaining their heating equipment. There is no built-in discount on a service plan. Instead, a 16-cent-per-gallon discount is available on any payment made within five days of delivery (which is billed at the market rate.) You may choose to receive automatic delivery.

• Just Oil Capped Plan

This is another great choice for customers who do not need service plans. You pay the market price, and you can take advantage of a 16-cent-per-gallon discount by paying within five days of delivery. With this plan, you eliminate the risk of seeing your price increase during the season. You pay an upfront fee for price protection, and we guarantee that your price will not exceed a predetermined level.
