COMPANY HISTORY

The Peterson Family has been in the oil business for over 50 years. Howard Peterson, Sr. started the company with just one truck, immediately following his distinguished service in World War II. Using his home as the center of operations, he delivered oil to Worcester-area residents. The business has grown over the years to include sales and service of heating equipment, air conditioning, and plumbing. Peterson Oil Service has become the largest heating oil retailer in Central Massachusetts. The company currently employs approximately 100 people and has a fleet of over 25 delivery trucks. 

Howard Peterson, Jr. worked in the family business most of his life, but after his graduation from Rensselaer in 1972, began his career in earnest. He has worked in many capacities over the years, and is currently the President of the company. Howard also sits on the boards of Worcester Academy as Treasurer, and the Worcester-County Horticultural Society at Tower Hill Botanic Garden.

Lorance Peterson began working in the company after college and has held various positions over the years. Larry has had extensive training in the area of heating equipment sales and service and has been a top salesman for Thermo Pride Heating Equipment for 6 years consecutively. He currently holds the office of Vice President and oversees the Sales and Service Divisions of the company.
